Married to Eileen - 52 years. Lived in many cities / states over the years. Spent over 40 years in the retail business --traveling all over North America. Moved (back) to CT 2/1/24 to be near my 3 incredible grandkids. Not likely I'll ever retire. I don't garden. I don't play golf. And, I love the business-world. I consider myself an incredibly lucky guy. Health good (so far), family & friends = terrific. I'm very thankful. So very hard to to accept and think about all the years that have past. Thank God for the wonderful memories. My best to all of my old class-mates |

Comment: Hello, all. I graduated from NOT GBN, since the family had moved to Wisconsin (my mother's home state) in the summer of 1966. By the time of the 40th Reunion, I had been downsized out of two good jobs. Then in 2010 I lost my job at a defense contractor that did not win a big contract they had bid on. The union employees in the shop got ot keep their jobs to keep money coming in for the company; to reduce overhead costs the office staff was reorganized - every department had cuts. Unable to find a new full time position, I had to begin Social Security before age 65. Because there is no allowance for it in my "so-called budget", I do not do any travelling. Three brothers and a sister are here in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. Our oldest brother Richard (GBN '61) passed away in Arizona, where he had gone because we had relatives there. I do not own a smart phone. My health is moderately good, although I have developed lymphedemia in my right foot and leg. |

Comment:
I graduated from college in 1971 and married my college sweetheart that July. We started our family of two daughters in 1976 and raised them in Glenview and Glencoe, IL. Fortunately, we were able to retire at 54 and 55 years of age and immediately moved to Bend, OR. The outdoor life - skiing, golf, snowshoeing, kayaking and pickleball- drew us there along with the fact that four of my husband's fraternity brothers and spouses moved there. Unbeknownst to me, my husband had the beginning of Alzheimer’s when we moved there. After 10 years, I realized that we needed to move by family so we moved to CT where our youngest daughter and family live. I joined the Westport Woman's Club which focuses on raising money to give away in grants and scholarship. It's very rewarding and I have met an amazing group of women. Looking forward to seeing everyone next month. |
