Comment: I moved back to the Chicago area in 2013 after living in Palm Springs, California for a time. I have 2 daughters and 2 very handsome grandsons (ages 4 & 6). My ex husband passed away very unexpectedly in October of 2015. Although we were divorced we remained very close until his untimely death. I retired at the age of 62 and I worked for the Fields auto group part time for two years. I recently joined the Steve Foley Cadillac Bentley Rolls-Royce dealership in our old hometown of Northbrook. I'm still in pretty good health knock on wood. I will not be at the reunion as I am planning a trip to Ireland to scatter my ex-husband's ashes there.

Comment:
After high school, I graduated from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland. I then lived briefly in Northbrook, Phoenix AZ, Portland OR, Washington, D.C., and Broadview Hts. OH until finally settling back in the Chicagoland area. I got my Masters of Social Work from Loyola Chicago and enjoyed a very satisfying career as a School Social Worker for the Norridge, IL elementary (k-8) schools before retiring in 2008. I had a few practice runs for marriage and finally married my true love, Denny Van Leare, in 1994. Denny helped put the finishing parental touches on my wonderful son, Andrew. But, we lost Denny to a fast moving cancer in 2004. Andrew lives in Boston with his wife, Julie, and my granddaughter, Emilia. Over the years, I've enjoyed wilderness camping and hiking. For all you GBN Chorale members, I continued to sing with some sort of choir and still sing with the Northbrook Community Choir. I almost never miss the Do-It-Yourself Messiah in Chicago. I'm involved in St. Norbert's Women's Council, the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, and also did lots of volunteering in the Norridge community quasi-related to my job there. I think as a result of these involvements and volunteering, I was selected in 2011 for the team to decorate the White House for Christmas. Otherwise, I can't explain my selection! I enjoy many activities with various groups of friends. I regularly attend the Marriott Theatre, the Civic Opera, and the Shakespeare Theatre, and other live performances. Other fun includes attending the Will Shortz Wonderful World of Words weekend in upstate New York for five years, two book clubs, and three regular mah jongg games. I loved two dogs for 17 plus years each. I've had Angie, the box turtle, for 33 years (and counting). And for the past five years, I've had my first cats, Cinder and Falco. Just last November, I downsized from my home on an acre of natural prairie in Riverwoods to a townhouse in Northbrook. With all my cousins and my son and his family living in other cities, I travel for visits often. And for CUBs Spring Training and exotic travel, classmate Louise Ristow and I have had, and continue to have, some great adventures. See her bio for the details! |

Comment:
Graduated from Miami of Ohio in 1971, married my husband, Bill, and moved to Ann Arbor where he was finishing dental school at Michigan. Spent two years in Coronado, CA, while Bill was in the Navy, and had our first two kids, Kelsey and Adam. Moved back to Glenwood Springs, CO, where Bill practiced dentistry and I taught school until giving birth to daughter, Marin. Worked in Glenwood as both a realtor and then Director of Development at Valley View Hospital. Got involved with Burger King as Franchisees. Left Glenwood, Bill bought a practice in the Denver metro area. Bought one and built six BK restaurants. Sold real estate again for 5 years, but quit to help out in the BK's full time. Now, only 4 stores left, so I have taken over as the director of operations. All 9 grandkids live here now, two with us for 6 yrs!. 20yrs-18 months. Thrilled the reunion is in Santa Fe. One of our favorite spots! |

Comment: So glad to see all of the interesting and accomplished alums we have produced. After graduating from Wisconsin State U (with John Hanekamp) I spent 6 months traveling through Europe, the Middle East, and India (got deathly ill). Started my career as a Petrographer (a type of Geologist) in Skokie before moving out west in 1979. Eventually ended up in San Jose where I started a testing lab and consulting firm and have been at it ever since. Moved up to the Foothills 25 years ago and love it. Retirement is on the immediate horizon. I have two kids-one of each. Married Linda in 2007 and have never been happier. Love golf, music, wine, and travel. Looking forward to Santa Fe and seeing old friends. Linda's 50th is in Ohio the following week! I haven't changed at all from the posted "then" photo so no need to upload a new one. Yep...still a bit of a smart aleck.
